When selecting a rug size for your living room, make sure it accommodates all furniture or allows for furniture to rest entirely on the rug. In smaller rooms, furniture can be positioned off the rug or with only the front legs on. For the bedroom, opt for a large rug that frames your bed and nightstands, ensuring there's 18 inches of rug to step onto on both sides of the bed.
